How to Audit Your Own Marketing in an Afternoon
You don't need to hire anyone to find the biggest opportunities in your marketing. A focused afternoon and an honest eye will surface most of the gaps that are quietly costing you customers. Here's a simple self-audit to run.
Start with the customer journey. Pretend you're a potential customer and go through it yourself. Find your business the way they would, through search or social. Visit your website on your phone. Try to enquire or buy. Note every point of friction, confusion or delay. These are your leaks.
Check your findability. Search for what you sell, in your area, the way a customer would. Do you show up? Is your Google Business Profile complete and strong? Are the basics of SEO in place?
Review your website with fresh eyes. Is it instantly clear what you offer, who it's for, and what to do next? Does it load fast? Is there proof? Is there one obvious call to action?
Look at your follow-up. What actually happens when a lead comes in? How fast, and how many times, do you follow up? This is where most businesses leak revenue.
Assess your consistency. Are you showing up regularly on your key channels, or in sporadic bursts? Is your list being emailed?
Check your measurement. Do you know your key numbers, where leads come from, what converts, what a customer is worth?
Write down the three biggest gaps you find, and fix those first. You'll usually discover that the fastest growth doesn't require more spending, just closing the holes you already have.
None of this needs an agency to work. But if you'd rather have it built and run for you, that's exactly what we do at Highnova, a bespoke agency that personally handles a small number of clients at a time.
