Metrics
Bounce Rate
The percentage of visitors who leave after viewing only one page.
Definition
A high bounce rate can signal a slow page, a mismatch between the ad and the landing page, or weak content. It's a useful diagnostic, though not always a problem (a blog post that answers a question fully may bounce and still succeed).
Formula
Bounce Rate = (Single-page sessions ÷ Total sessions) × 100
Example
If 700 of 1,000 sessions leave without a second pageview, your bounce rate is 70%.
