CPL (Cost Per Lead)

The average cost to generate one lead.

Definition

CPL measures how much you pay for each lead (an email, form fill or enquiry) from a campaign. It's the key efficiency metric for lead-generation businesses that don't sell online.

Formula
CPL = Ad spend ÷ Leads generated

Example

AED 5,000 of spend producing 100 enquiries is a CPL of AED 50. Whether that's good depends on how many leads convert into paying customers.
