MQL (Marketing Qualified Lead)

A lead judged likely to become a customer based on their engagement.

Definition

An MQL is a lead that has shown enough interest, downloading a guide, requesting a quote, visiting key pages, to be worth a sales follow-up, but isn't yet a confirmed buyer. Defining MQLs well keeps sales focused on leads that actually convert.

Example

Someone who used your pricing calculator and requested a report is an MQL; a random newsletter signup usually isn't yet.
